Exhibit Display 1: TiB2  target

As a core material for PVD coating, TiB₂ targets have become one of the key technologies in the high-end cutting‑tool coating field, thanks to their exceptional hardness and low‑friction properties. At elevated temperatures, TiB₂ coatings form a self‑lubricating B₂O₃ oxide layer, reducing the coefficient of friction to below 0.5 and significantly minimizing adhesive wear between the tool and titanium alloys such as Ti6Al4V. This characteristic makes TiB₂ an ideal choice for machining high‑temperature aerospace alloys and titanium alloy structural components. Compared with mainstream coatings like TiAlN, TiB₂ boasts superior microhardness and excellent thermal conductivity, making it well suited for high‑speed dry cutting and extending tool life by 30% to 200%. Moreover, TiB₂ exhibits virtually no chemical affinity with metals such as aluminum and copper, effectively suppressing built‑up edge formation and enhancing surface finish in precision machining.

Exhibit Display 2: Multi-component alloy targets CrAl-X, TiAl-X

In recent years, hard coatings have increasingly evolved toward greater diversity and nanoscale architectures. Incorporating dopant elements into the coating to enhance hardness, raise oxidation resistance, improve lubricity, and reduce internal stresses has become a major trend in the development of cutting‑tool coatings.

We dope conventional Cr–Al and Ti–Al targets with additional elements to produce ternary, quaternary, and even higher‑order alloy targets—Cr–Al‑X and Ti–Al‑X—meeting the performance requirements of tool coatings under diverse machining conditions. The compositions of these multi‑element targets can be customized by the customer or configured using standard ratios, enabling you to develop a wide range of advanced composite coating systems.

Executive Message: Anticipation for This Year’s EMO Exhibition

Miao Lei — Deputy General Manager of TARFILM Technology Group and Head of Group Marketing

In the golden autumn of September, the global manufacturing community will once again turn its attention to Hanover—as the 2025 EMO trade fair in Germany is set to open with great fanfare.

As the “Olympics” of the global metalworking industry, EMO is not only a showcase for cutting-edge equipment and technologies but also an unparalleled platform for gauging the pulse of the worldwide tooling sector and forecasting future trends.

From its debut at EMO in 2013 to 2025, TARFILM Technology has established itself as a globally recognized supplier of target materials in the cutting-tool coating industry. At this year’s exhibition, our company will deploy a robust international sales team and a core R&D team, aiming to deliver an even more comprehensive trade-show experience for our customers.

We look forward to: getting up close and personal with world‑class technologies, gaining a clear understanding of genuine market needs, and showcasing China’s PVD coating targets. “Hard” power 。
